About project

The Bangabandhu Military Museum in Dhaka is a state-of-the-art facility that celebrates the illustrious history and valor of the Bangladeshi military forces. It is located next to the Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Novo Theatre, a fitting juxtaposition of two iconic cultural landmarks.

The museum’s interior was designed by a collaborative team of renowned architects and designers, with Mukta Dinwiddie MacLaren Architects (MDM) specifically focusing on the Navy’s interior sections. The design reflects a meticulous blend of historical reverence and modern aesthetics, enhancing the visitor experience.

The museum’s primary objective is to collect, preserve, and exhibit the Bangladeshi military’s history, heritage, achievements, and progress over the decades. It also aims to inspire and motivate people to join the forces.

The museum has six distinct galleries, dedicated to the Bangladesh Army, Navy, and Air Force, as well as the United Nations peacekeeping operations and the Chittagong Hill Tracts. The basement houses three separate workshops and storage facilities for maintenance accessories.
