MDM were commissioned to design the banquet hall for Hotel Lakeshore in the Gulshan district of Dhaka. The primary engineering challenge was to deliver 1,700 sqm of uninterrupted floor space — entirely column-free — on a constrained urban site. 

The ground floor accommodates the reception, lobby and car-parking area, while the first floor houses the pre-function area, washrooms and the main hall. The structural frame uses prefabricated steel columns and beams with reinforced concrete slabs, allowing the internal volume to remain open and adaptable. 

Interior finishes were specified to the highest quality: premium floor surfaces, a plasterboard ceiling, and an LED lighting system in the roof that recreates the effect of a starry night sky — creating a distinctive and memorable atmosphere for events. Both internal and external cladding use a combination of wood and aluminium panels.
