About project

Joiners Mews is a residential conversion and interior fit-out project in London, carried out by MDM under a full design-and-build contract. The project transformed an existing mews property into a refined contemporary home, combining high-specification finishes with a restrained, predominantly white interior palette that allows natural light to define the quality of each space.

The design brief called for a home that balanced modern sophistication with timeless warmth. White walls and smooth plaster surfaces were selected to maximise the sense of light and volume throughout, while carefully chosen furnishings and bespoke joinery fixtures add tactile richness and a sense of craftsmanship. The result is an interior that is quietly opulent — understated in palette but considered in every detail.

The exterior of the building features a bold arched glazing system that forms the primary facade, admitting daylight deep into the plan and creating a striking street presence appropriate to the mews typology. Inside, a timber staircase anchors the vertical circulation and provides a warm material counterpoint to the predominantly white interior scheme. Throughout, the selection of materials, fixtures and spatial proportions reflects MDM’s commitment to delivering residences that feel both distinctive and enduringly liveable.
